So I went to the city today and looked like a total fool. Not because I was wearing a shirt clearly for girls with something of a bosom which I do not posess, not because I was wearing a very boyish messenger bag, or forgot my watch. It was because people kept asking me for directions. Do I really look like I know where I'm going THAT well? I just know how to count streets and which way blocks run. It's not like that's a big deal, I think even tourists can do that.

Actually, I WAS a bit of a tourist today. We ate at the Hard Rock Cafe (which was actually not crowded at all, lots of waiters just standing around asking us if we wanted our drinks refilled like every 2 minutes), took pictures of myself in front of various Broadway show posters, and I even bought a T-Shirt for Avenue Q. If that doesn't write "TOURIST" all over me like one of those foam statue of liberty crowns, I don't really know what does.

Actually, I'd never really been inside a Hard Rock Cafe before. I mean like, I've walked through the gift shoppy things, but I've never actually eaten there. The layout was cool, the food was good (except that I had to pick apart the chicken because I couldn't chew it due to my stitched-up mouth, it was yummy anyway), and they played songs I liked. OH YEAH AND I BOUGHT THE STUPID PHOTO THEY TOOK OF ME. Hurrrmmmm. ONLY TOURISTS DO THAT.

I think my real problem whenever I go to the city is that it always, without fail, transforms me into a temporary germophobe. I never want to touch ANYTHING. If I'm wearing a hoodie or a jacket, I'll have my hands inside my sleeves at all times, and if I'm not, I push everything open with my wrists. If it's a pull door, I loop my closed fist under the handle and pull it forward. I guess it always looks weird and awkward, especially on stairs and in entrances to restaurants, etc, but seriously, how many people touch that door/handrail/bench/signpost/crosswalk signal pole button every day? When was the last time it rained? The rain could have made it even ickier, anyway! Ewwwwwww.

Then when I get back home I'm ok with the whole "Oh I dropped food on the floor? Let me snatch it up and eat it anyway!"....thing. I pick my scabs. I even pop my pimples and stare at the goo that comes out. God, I'm disgusting for a girl.

I'm going to try to get in the habit of going to bed 15 minutes earlier every night until I'm going to bed at 12:30 every night. Considering that I went to bed at 6:30 or so every day for the past few weeks...and I started this the other day...I'm trying for 5am tonight. Hell, I can't always help it! Inspiration usually strikes when I'm trying to fall asleep! Or when I'm doing homework, that too.

Well, since I couldn't sleep on the train ride back (a baby was crying at some inhumane amount of decibels in the same car. Not just crying, I mean screeching. I cringed every time it opened its mouth), I was rethinking a lot of my old characters. I'm sort of past my 'mecha' phase, but I didn't want to just trash all those characters. I really liked a lot of them, but hell if I'm going to use Drakeboom or Edgewire or Eclipse again. (I really liked Eclipse, too. ) I think it'll be fun to revamp them all instead of just trashing them and moving on. I have too many OCs as is, I don't need to dump more miscellany random magical creatures, aliens, ghosts and stuff from various universes into the pile. We'll see if this project actually GOES anywhere, or just falls flat on its face.

Also: Dear mouth. The goddamn wisdom teeth are gone. Stop moving and fucking up all the work my braces did. I really don't want them again. I think I'll cry if I have to get them again. I did that shit in middle school. Not-love, Mur.

An unrelated note:
I want to get something straightened out: my DeviantART page is for doodles, things I do in my spare time, and things I do for fun. I have no intention of posting classwork, life drawings, or things in my portfolio. I'd like to keep DA separate from school and life drawing work, which is really VERY different from what I have on this page. Thank you.
